Sue Scott continues to give exciting artists their New York debuts, this time with Berlin-based Finn Mikkola’s first solo show, Flex. Part painting, part decoupage and collage, her teeming networks of colors, coils and scraps evoke the layered patterns of another of Scott’s artists, Franklin Evans, with a dash of Julie Mehretu’s sweeping architectural sensibility. Whether cityscapes, abstract explosions or computer motherboards, her evocative abstractions are mesmerizing.
