We messed up. We ignored 151a during December's year-end list making, never delving into the debut album of K Ishibashi’s recording project beyond the single featured in a Windows 8 commercial. That’s on us. Upon closer examination, 151a—likely a reference to a Japanese term meaning “once in a lifetime”—takes Ishibashi’s classical violin training and Ram-era Sir Paul and mixes them up with Andrew Bird’s croons, of Montreal’s psychedelic patchwork, and Grimes’ occasional garbles. It’s not too late to get on board. YOLO, you know?
