Kraftwerk

April 10-17, 8 p.m. 2012; REALLY SOLD OUT

When you think about it for a second, the frenzy over tickets for the Kraftwerk MoMA retrospective was at least a little weird. The Internet would probably have knives out for the live show of any other group of old (or young) guys, unmoving behind laptops, right? (Animal Collective, excluded, of course.) But the innovation and metronomic delight of the records chronologically celebrated with each of these successive shows is tough to argue. As a pop record, 1978’s Man-Machine is probably our personal fave (it's performed Friday the 13th), but as now-spooky visions of a future come to pass (computer-saturated, unending, banal) all of their early material holds up. But, uh, have fun at the Techno Pop one, dudes.
