Lee Bul

Tuesdays-Saturdays. Continues through June 19 2010

The Korean art star continues to craft extremely organic hanging forms from artificial material, making for futuristic bouquets that inhabit a mesmerizing middle ground between industrial design, sculpture and appropriation art. Along with a new set of these massive, vertical forms, Bul unveils drawings and sketches for past works and environments still unbuilt, offering a glimpse into her ambitious upcoming techno-futurist projects. Turning away from the slick glass forms of her recent works, the undulating, high-process rubber forms in this exhibition immediately evoke plastic deck chair assemblages.
