For all the influence of Sonic Youth, guitarist Lee Ranaldo’s image has always been as modest, thoughtful third banana to Kim and Thurston. So while Lee playing his solid rock record Between the Times and Tides with a band in such a tight little room will probably have a feel that's perfectly unfussy, let’s not lose perspective. It’s still a total privilege to see someone of this stature in such close proximity.
