The Brooklyn Museum continues to tap into its uniquely rich local pool of talented artists, this time offering a survey of recent series by the photographer, collagist and draftswoman Lorna Simpson. One series, for instance, juxtaposes representations of race and gender in found pinup photos from the 50s with her own elaborate reconstructions of the images with herself as the model.
