Today marks the official arrival of Marnie Stern's self-titled new album, in which she teams up with human-animal drummer Zach Hill (of Hella and Wavves fame) and bassist boyfriend Matthew Flegal (of Women), sometimes sounding uncontrollably excited like Fang Island ("For Ash"), while other times sounding forceful and heart-wrenched ("Transparency Is the New Mystery"). She plays guitar extremely well, just in case you haven't picked up on that point yet.
