Right before NYC Fringe takes over Midtown, the MITF offers a slightly less imposing selection of over 60 readings, full-length and short plays. Some standouts from the program: The Tragedie of Cardenio, a tongue-in-cheek comedy about the long-disputed Shakespeare play; the Chekhovian sci-fi comedy The Starship Astrov; and Never Norman Rockwell, in which a groom-to-be wakes after his bachelor party and announces he’s gay.
