In a year where most of the R&B blogging bandwidth has been taken up by Mr. Frank Ocean, Miguel is poised to soak up the rest. His sophomore album, Kaleidoscope Dream, is turning heads, shuffling R&B, rock, pop, funk and electro soul through an almost silky smooth voice, making his self-proclaimed influences—from Prince, to Hendrix, to Kanye, to Bowie—not totally without reason.
