Love it or hate it, modern architecture has been if not the most prevalent then certainly the most influential aesthetic development of the last century. Though our relationship to that legacy is not always an easy one–living and working in modern buildings is seldom as pretty as it looks. Nevertheless, those mixed feelings mean that some modern masterworks are being destroyed or inappropriately modified all the time, a tragic loss of modern art history that this exhibition documents in hopes of reversing.
