The best show of the fortnight, maybe the best of the whole summer, as far as up-and-coming rock bands are concerned. Headliners Naomi Punk are the latest in a long line of sludge-mongers from Seattle whose roughed up surf guitars weirdly make more sense in an only slightly damp basement. Nude Beach play tight no-frills rock in the vein of those cool early Tom Petty records. Sleepies play straight, uncut punk that brings to mind reference points as pure as the Sex Pistols.
