Skiles, an artist from one of our dearly departed galleries of 2009, nearby Greene Contemporary, makes crazy cuckoo clocks. Some are conventional antiques repainted with strange patterns or appended with some bizarre lever system of small sculptures on its façade. Others are unique beasts, like a two-clock sculpture that looks something like a moose monster bounty hunter, with a giant snake wrapped around its necks and human ears hanging from its armor. Another clock has been updated with a pair of sneakers, a matchstick house, and heavy-duty electrical wire and a pair of dentures. It’s Skiles time!
