New Fest 

The 17th Annual Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Film Festival takes place at the Loews Theater at 34th St and eighth Ave. Tickets to screenings are $11; forums are $5. A sampling of this week’s fare:

Wanted! (Franziska Meletzky, 2004) 88 min. A German woman has a middle-aged awakening when she lets her beautiful neighbor hide out in her apartment. Quejios (Kerry Weldon) 10 min.

Kiki and Herb on the Rocks (Mike Nicholls, 2005) 64 min. Difficulties of a humorous nature arise when Kiki and Herb go to London to perform. Irene Williams: Queen of Lincoln Rd. (Eric Smith) 23 min. Standing Room Only (Anthony Brownrigg) 5 min.

Gay Sex in the 70’s (Joseph F. Lovett, 2005) 70 min. The post-Stonewall, pre-AIDS era gets the documentary treatment.

Afterschool Specials A shorts program featuring films focusing on homosexuality and adolescence.

SATURDAY, JUNE 11, 1PM
Filmmakers Forum: Genres: The AIDS Film MIX Film Festival Co-founders Jim Hubbard and Sarah Schulman join other filmmakers for a conversation on cinematic representations of the disease.
