Talk about non-traditional takes on familiar holiday traditions! Gowanus's Company XIV continues its string of decadent, sexed-up neo-baroque adaptations of fairy tales, this time borrowing from Alexandre Dumas's version of Hoffman's Nutcracker, sprinkled with samplings of Little Red Riding Hood and stripped to the (barely-not) naked flesh. Expect lavish period costumes, quasi-burlesque choreography, and a male dancer in nothing but a diamond-encrusted codpiece. Those nuts won't crack.
