For five years now, NYCTaper has been a tireless chronicle, of the New York City music scene, their archives swelling with evidence of Brooklyn’s post-Todd P explosion of DIY performances spaces, sure, but also big deal Manhattan music moments like Pavement’s five-show stand at Summerstage 2010. And notable in a lawless Internet culture, the guys always do it above the board with full permission and compliance from the bands they capture. They mark the milestone with a bill featuring another local institution, Oneida, whose wild live shows they’ve captured to FLAC more than once.
