On Osama's Death

I hated Bin Laden. Everyone did, all over the world, except for his few followers. As a Muslim I'm glad he's no longer able to inspire people to follow him, since terrorism and the wars and hatred that come because of it are the worst things in the world right now, but at the same time I don't want to cheer someone's death. Everyone has been waiting for some kind of revenge for so long that now that we have it I think we should all just step back for a while and take a breath.

I was in the cab when I heard. I had a customer who got a text about it and he started hollering, telling me to turn on the news. So I did and we saw it and we just started cheering. I was banging the horn, everyone was. I was high-fiving the customer against the glass here. People were dancing, hugging. I'm sure someone got laid. It was like the Yankees winning, only a surprise. It was a great night.

Obama got him! Obama got Osama! It's all over now. Well it isn't, but it feels like it is. I'm so happy. Everyone down here has been waiting for so long for this. I only wish it had happened sooner, right after 9/11, since I think we needed it more then. Nobody was talking about Osama before this. But I don't think Bush could have gotten him. But Obama did! Whooooooooo!
