MoMA's collection is, to a fairly substantial degree, structured around its holdings of Abstract Expressionist paintings (see concurrent AbEx show for proof), but that movement was quickly displaced by Pop Art in the space of about a decade. This show of works from the museum's world-class collection of Pop pieces included all those heavyweights of the movement like Warhol, Oldenburg, Lichtenstein and Johns.
