We wouldn’t necessarily call a Perfume Genius show "fun." The stillness in which Mike Hadreas sings is striking, the silences between notes sting the air, his face contorts into a grimace every few seconds as if he has to force the words through. By comparison, Conor Oberst seems like the happiest guy on earth. Comforting? Not quite. Painfully heartbreaking and worth experiencing? Yes, definitely.
