In the midst of Canada's mid-00s rock ‘n’ roll renaissance, Vancouver’s Sam McBeam helmed two hard-rocking, 70s-inspired buzz bands in different shades: the Sabbath-jocking Black Mountain and its slightly softer, sometimes sex-crazed offshoot Pink Mountaintops. Though a bit narrower in scope, the Pink peaks (not heard on record since 2009’s solid Outside Love) are more than capable of filling Union Pool to brim.
