In April, we put out an issue naming "8 NYC Bands You Need to Hear," supplmented by a handful of honorable mentions. All three of these bands earned a spot in the issue. Part of us feels like proud parents seeing their children off on the first day of school; another part knows they don't need any help from us — that they're going to do just fine on the merit of their music — and soon we're going to be empty nesters without much else to live for other than Denny's early-bird specials.
