At (Le) Poisson Rouge earlier this summer, the Montreal-based goth-pop duo Purity Ring wowed us with some deceptively modest stagecraft. Just a few lights, lit with instrumental triggers, gave the impression of intricate movement and added a bit of fantasy-land whimsy. We’re not sure if they can replicate the trick on a stage too big to be turned casually into a magic alien egg-tree, but we look forward to the attempt.
