David Mamet’s been in something of a rut, lately, between 2008’s facile presidential farce November on Broadway, and last fall’s mediocre double bill of short plays at Atlantic and the critically panned Oleanna revival. But with this new play, which he also directed, Mamet seems to have redeemed himself somewhat with a courtroom drama about two lawyers (James Spader and David Alan Grier) and their firm’s newest recruit (Kerry Washington) defending a rich white man accused of raping a young black woman.
