At this panel, Mark Harman (Kafka's Amerika), Richard Howard (Baudelaire's The Flowers of Evil) and Royall Tyler (Japanese proto-novel The Tale of Genji) will talk about the challenges of translating works already available in English. (Social awkwardness� being, we imagine, among those challenges. We've always pictured Fitzgerald snubbing Lattimore at cocktail parties after the latter brought out his Odyssey.)
