At just 45, you might think Brooklyn-based Gatson is too young for a full-scale retrospective, but that just means you're ageist. Also, if you're familiar with his work you know that he oscillates dramatically between seemingly simple yet exceedingly powerful video art, monochrome and often glittery abstract paintings, ecstatic collages, ominous installations and more, making him long overdue for a comprehensive survey such as this.
