Neither completely nostalgic for some lost pastoral wilderness, nor fully located in the ecology of urban wildlife (though rats do appear quite frequently), the Belgian street artist ROA paints mural-sized feral and skeletal animals in somber black and white, often in industrial and abandoned sectors. Here, faced with a different sort of factory as his canvas, he’s deployed his minions on movable surfaces like doors and panels so that, almost like a street-art science museum, you can see the bird or bunny and then open it to look at its innards.
