When we visited his studio in early September, Humphrey was putting the finishing touches on a pink fur-lined coffin covered in BMX and skate gear stickers, and a towering totem of kegs adorned with crudely rendered creatures stood nearby. For the inaugural show at Galapagos Art Space’s gallery, Look for the dream that keeps coming back, he promised us a kind of pop culture funeral ceremony, despite the wealth of neon colors.
