The Canadian painter's solo debut in New York features a new series of surreal, sorta sci-fi portrait paintings. The least jarring faces are covered in bright stripes that evoke funhouse wallpaper. In others, faces appear to be melting and peeling, features are creepily distorted, and there's a rather creepy, futuristic air to the imagery.
