Is it even possible to win CMJ twice? The London post-punk band broke big in the bright spotlight of last year’s festival and delivered on that promise with a stark and confident debut record. So, half a year later, what do they have to gain with a CMJ-stealing victory lap? Maybe they’re just trying to stay in the minds of short attention-spanned media long enough to prop up their end-of-year list chances? That might be unnecessarily cynical. They might just want to keep on ripping.
