Like Grimes and Braids, Sean Nicholas Savage is an odd Canadian pop act on ultra-hip Montreal label Arbutus. His music's been compared to the lounge pop of Destroyer’s slick Kaputt, but that’s more of a maybe someday level of togetherness for which to aspire. For now, he sounds thin and misty-eyed in an intriguing way. In comparison, Detroit’s Jamaican Queens sound fully formed. Their awesome debut Wormfood contains a surplus of weirdo hooks that will happily dance through your head three seconds after first listen.
