Somewhere along the line — likely in the pocket of time after Pitchfork named Dye It Blonde “Best New Music" — getting tickets to a Smith Westerns show became very difficult. Not like LCD Soundsystem difficult because that shit’s just straight-up insane, but difficult enough that if you blinked, you missed the opportunity to buy them for sold-out gigs at Glasslands in January, Mercury Lounge earlier this week, and this show at the Knit. Sure, this is probably on account of hype, but we like to think the quality of Dye It Blonde’s Beatles-revering pop has something to do with it too.
