Is the country ready for a pint-sized, divorced Jew? Well, probably not. Draft-dodging ersatz cowboys, sure… But then again, it is the 21st-century, and he is a rags-to-riches story… Clearly, we’re not sure, so we asked the barkeeps.

No. Not enough experience. He’s the mayor, not a president. He’s done an ok job as mayor, but I wouldn’t vote for Rudy either. It’s just too big of a step. I don’t care if you’re a billionaire or not.

Yes! So far I think he’s done a great job with the city. I really like his Green Plan. And, he’s really not a Republican. Yeah, I definitely would vote for him. I don’t like Giuliani, and I don’t really like Hillary — I mean, I like her health care plan, but she has all these big drug companies backing her, so...

I think I’d vote for him. He’d run the country like a business. So far I’ve been happy with how he’s done as mayor. There’s been nothing he’s done where I’ve thought, “that sucks.” I’m not the most political guy in the world, but I do know when a political decision affects me negatively, and I really haven’t seen anything like that from him. [Do you think he could win?] I don’t know. The rest of the country probably doesn’t realize the sort of job he’s been doing here. That’s a good question.

I don’t know about president, but as a Democrat I voted for him as Mayor even though he was a Republican, because his smoking ban basically saved my life. I think he’s got a great temperament. He’s a practical person, he doesn’t let media hype get to him or the people. He’s a self-made man. Would he make a good president? I don’t know. But he’s been a great mayor.

Considering who’s probably running for president I would probably go for Obama or Clinton right now. I think him running would probably hurt their chances. [What do you think about the job he’s done as mayor?] I’ve got no complaints.

No. Right now it’s just so early, everyone is still launching their preliminary campaigns right now. I’m interested in Clinton or Obama right now. But, you know, things can change. I think he’s a great mayor. He’s done great things for the city. Maybe I shouldn’t say no. Maybe it’s just too early to tell.
