It's 95 degrees. It's humid. You're playing an outdoor show. Shorts on stage: Yes or no?
Quinn (Walker, vocals/guitar) once got made fun of for wearing shorts at a show.. They said "Rockers don't wear shorts!" so, I guess we learned our lesson there...

Will you alter your set at all to account for the more celebratory vibe of an outdoor show?
Sure, although I think alot of the time we try to make our sets pretty upbeat and celebratory.. It seems to keep the audience more engaged..

Stereolab and Sonic Youth at the Walker in Minneapolis!

"Rude Boy" by Rihanna. Is that from this year?

I don't think people want to see me in shorts up there. Just a hunch. When I wear shorts I look like your nerdy cousin who wears black socks with sandals.

There's not much more we could do to make our set more celebratory. I guess we could cover "I Gotta Feelin" by Black Eyed Peas. We definitely could use a t-shirts cannon and some pyrotechnics. Maybe a hype man. And some fly girls.

Radiohead at Molson Park in Barrie, On. It was the first concert I ever went to and it set the bar impossibly high for all that followed.

What's your vote for Summer Jam of 2010?
Tough one. Maybe the new Cold War Kids EP? I know that's more than one song but I'm terrible at decisions. Or something from the new Born Ruffians record. Or The Hold Steady...

What's your vote for Summer Jam of all time?
Tougher one. Probably something by The Strokes.

Absolutely. A year ago I might have sacrificed in the name of cool, but I've since realized that all the suffering in the world won't make me cool, and adjusted my fashion accordingly.

Probably notƒ¢â€š¬â‚we like to do what we do best and allow the celebratory vibe to visit itself upon us if the moment permits. I've found you can't do much to influence these things and it's usually foolish to try.
