Anne Carson's adaptation of Euripides's Alkestis for Big Dance Theater and choreographers Paul Lazar and Annie-B Parson transposes the story of King Admentus and his self-sacrificing wife onto a circular set where the conventionally unidirectional action of a tragic story towards demise turns cyclical and, apparently, supernatural.
