The Cake Shop, that LES haven for smallish traveling bands who rock well and often, is nearing the end of an Internet fundraising drive to keep its doors open and deal with the financial ramifications of championing up-and-coming groups in this ridiculously expensive city. And while online pledges are vehemently suggested, drinks and a cover help too and are more fun. What we're saying is, get yourself to tonight's benefit show with just-announced surprise headliners Surfer Blood.
