Tame Impala is what happens to psychedelic rock in the MacBook Age. Post-Woodstock, post-glam rock, post-punk and half-metal, it’s similar to how shoegaze would sound if it married the Magical Mystery Tour and got stoned with Caribou (this would take place in Colorado, of course). And while that sounds like it’d go well with the iTunes equalizer, we think Tame Impala’s extra-prominent drums and wah-heavy guitar riffs are best experienced in a live setting.
