John K. Samson, known primarily as the leader of The Weakerthans, doesn't get a lot of play in the music press, especially here in the city. But the people who like him really like him, and it's not hard to see why: On his new solo album, Provincial, he does exactly what he's always done, crafting instantly memorable songs about places that would otherwise be easily forgotten.
