The Avett Brothers are kind of like really good-looking versions of Sam Beam, playing slow sad murder ballad/country-rock lullabies behind long-ass beards. Insofar as they're a little slicker than Mr. Beam, so too are their songs, which sometimes work and sometimes feel a little calculated. But it's probably all worth it tonight just to hear their near-perfect Brooklyn anthem, "I and Love and You (Brooklyn Take Me In)." We could have a crowd sing-along on our hands here, folks.
