#12 “Roof Garden” At Northeast Kingdom
This cocktail has a crisp, evergreen freshness thanks to thyme and mint grown in the owners’ garden. It’s a fitting drink for the husbandand- wife Vermonters who opened the restaurant with a think-local theme. Foraged and rooftop-grown produce fill the menu year-round, from local sources such as Brooklyn Grange. No locaholic points, however, for this cocktail’s Tito’s Handmade Vodka, from the small-batch distillery in Texas.
From early Dutch settlers in the 1600s straight through to Brooklyn Brewery, Sixpoint and lots of exciting newcomers, New Yorkers sure have done a lot of drinking.
