BEST ATTEMPT TO OVERTHROW CRAIGSLIST TICKET SCAMMERS: BrooklynVegan commenters after the aforementioned Animal Collective show
After tickets for Animal Collective’s shows at Bowery and Grand Ballroom went for hundreds of dollars on Craigslist, numerous fans found themselves turned away at the door with counterfeit tickets. News quickly spread on the BrooklynVegan message boards of a guy who had sold copies of his e-ticket receipt to multiple people at inflated prices. Pissed-off fans chimed in with tidbits about him, eventually revealing the dude’s cell phone number and work address. Whether or not this guy was actually at fault or somehow got mixed up in a larger scam, it became a rare moment of power-to-the-people camaraderie among a group best known for tearing one another apart with oh-so-witty commentary.
