For six years now, we've invited short story submissions for this, our competitive reading series, dangling the promise of cash prizes, publication and gloried untold before the eyes of ambitious writer types. Tonight, at the first of our three semifinal readings, a few brave souls will read their stories, the best of the slushpile, in front of a gimlet-eyed judging panel comprised of literary insiders, and also a whole bar full of drinks. Plus: drink specials! Drunken literary trivia! Giveaways! Erudite stage patter! Burlesque to follow! Join a makeshift literary community, if only for a night.
