Far from the Met’s multimillion-dollar, re-packaged and long-ago sold out version of Wagner’s Ring Cycle, there’s Performance Lab 115’s more fundamentally transformed 80s-set reinterpretation of parts one and two (out of four). The first turns the Ring into a pro wrestling soap opera with screeching hair metal soundtrack; and the second into a glimpse of soul-crushing, tight leather-wearing and hair-perming Downtown destitution.
