The Summer of 2003, Blackout
Ok, so this was actually one of the best New York summers ever: the city's unofficial mourning over 9/11 came to an end with the Blackout of August 14th, during which no rioting or looting took place and everyone just kind of partied and danced and took care of one another. Man, that was a good summer.
