Titus Andronicus, Real Estate
Fri., July 10, 7 p.m. 2009; FREE with museum admission ("pay what you wish" from 6pm-9pm)
Music: Rock, Pop and Hip-Hop
To kick off the Whitney's run of indie-inclined concerts every Friday in July, Titus Andronicus delivers their riled up, thinking-man's punk. Often compared to the Replacements, their shows are sloppy and fun and never fail to rally the audience around what may be the most infectious hooks we've heard in a while. And then there's Real Estate, a Jersey-bred outfit who continues to blow us away with their aching drone-pop. OMG, this is going to be good.
