It's shaping up to be a hell of a year for Merril Garbus, the mastermind behind the suddenly ubiquitous tUnE-yArDs, whose name we will finally start to type out the way we're supposed to — we're of the opinion an artist must reach a certain level of prominence before having their every whim indulged. Their new album, w h o k i l l (more whims! indulged!), is one of the most purely expressive, and completely unhinged, albums we've heard in forever, with Garbus' vocals colliding pleasantly with all matter of homespun percussion.
