We love exhibitions that pit two very different artists against one another just for the sake of seeing what comes out of the interaction. This is more like a battle royale, though, with nine pairs of photographers going head to head in more or less thematically unified pairings. So, for instance, Brian Ulrich versus Alex Leme, who you got? Do the former’s shots of billboards and sidewalks full of charming Americana do it for you? Or do you prefer Leme’s desolate malls, sprawls and parking lots fallen to ruin and overgrown with weeds? This show is full of such difficult, delightful choices.
