What Old Movie Theaters in Brooklyn Look Like Now

The Loew's Oriental opened in 1927 and sat more than 2,700 people, according to Cinema Treasures. The theater, on 86th Street at Bay 19th Street, right by New Utrecht Avenue, closed in 1995, which means that I'm old enough once to have visited. I remember my parents making a big deal out of taking us there, that we were going to a genuine movie palace, not one of those cut-up multiplexes in you saw everywhere else. I wasn't disappointed, and I can still vividly recall a pair of enormous, grand curved staircases, though that may be exaggerated (as the memories of children often are). Now it's some shitty fucking Marshall's.
