New York City is brutal on cars. Potholes, stop-starts, post-Apocalyptic zombie pedestrians trying to eat your tires — WHILE YOU’RE DRIVING. But if you think it’s bad, imagine the poor cabbies who have to drive their jalopies around the city for 12-hour shifts. Not pretty.

To be honest, I’ve been working as a driver for two years and I’ve only had two problems all that time. One time a belt broke, and the other time it was an engine fan that went out. These are pretty good cars. More important — they maintain them well. Everyday at the garage they get checked out.
