It’s a classic pastime of all New Yorkers: fantasizing about where they would live if they could live anywhere in the city. You do it, we do it and, evidently, so do the city’s bartenders.
Where she presides: Joshua Tree, Murray Hill
Favorite drink: Absolut Mandarin and Soda I've been living down the block from here for about a year, and I like it, but I'm an actress, so I'd probably like to be in Chelsea, because it seems like I'm over there the most. I have a couple of friends who live around 23rd and Sixth. That seems like a good place, just in terms of being close to a lot of things, like the subway. The Upper East Side is nice too, if you want more of that whole neighborhood feel.
Where he presides: Morrell Wine Bar, Midtown
Favorite drink: 16-Year Lagavulin
It’d be a dream to live on the Brooklyn waterfront in a loft. Something with high ceilings and some big windows… I’d love to design something from scratch. I had an artist’s space in DUMBO for a while and I used to love going up on the roof. There’s just nothing like that view. It’s a little out of my range now, but I’d like to have a loft in Red Hook or Sunset Park — one of those neighborhoods that are developing right now.
Where he presides: Tonic, Gramercy
Favorite drink: Guinness
The Corinthian building over on the East Side. It's like 34th and Second — around there [actually, 38th between First and Secnd, for all you apartment hunters out there]. I’ve never been inside it, but it looks really nice. It’s in a nice area over by the East River. [Ed. “Ever looked into the prices?”] Ha, no, it’s way over my head.
Where he presides: Black Door, Chelsea
Favorite drink: Blanton Single, Barrel Bourbon
I’d live in the West Village, and I can tell you exactly where: Bank Street at West 11th. It’s beautiful there, quiet too. Plus, it’s right next to Magnolia Bakery. But… actually I’m too fat already. Ah, who cares, I’d still love to live there. I don’t live that far from it now: I live on Seventh Ave. and 15th Street in a great loft. I literally married the woman that lives there to get in! It’s too loud though; I love the quiet on Bank. Someday…
Where she presides: Rogue, Chelsea
Favorite drink: Jameson, rocks I’d always wanted to live on the Lower East Side. I moved hear about a year and a half ago from San Diego, and where did I end up? My dream neighborhood! If there’s anywhere else, it might be the Meatpacking District, but it’s just not as laid back as where I live. I’m really happy there.
