Our all-time favorite end-of-the-night, soak-up-all-the-booze food is most definitely an order of poutine (fries, cheese curds and gravy) from The Main in Montreal, paired with a super-strong dill pickle and a slice of cheesecake. It’s how we ended up looking so damn good.

Oh, I’ve been tending bar a long, long time. I’m kind of past that stage, the get drunk and eat weird things stage. The cravings stage. Besides, this is a family establishment. Are you sure you should be asking me about cravings? [winks] I guess I always enjoy a nice fish on Christmas Eve, which is traditional. Does that count as a craving?

Hmm... worst thing I eat... [A regular helpfully suggests a local burrito joint.] Yeah, that’s pretty bad. I’m trying to think of the last thing that came back up, though. Oh, I know. I brought a sandwich to bed with me. I had nothing in my house but this basil-flavored oil and I made an oil sandwich and brought it to bed. When I woke up there was this oil stain on the featherbed. I guess that’s better than a different kind of stain. And there was bread everywhere. I didn’t really eat it, just brought it to bed.

White Castle. When you see the bag from White Castle on the floor of your bedroom the next morning, it’s like, ‘OH NO.’ Everyone loves White Castle, I know, but I think you can only really eat it after midnight.
ELAN Where he presides: Pastis, Meatpacking District Favorite drink: Soda with lemon
I never eat what I will regret in the morning. But you know what happens? I will smoke two packs of cigarettes. I’ll feel terrible and want to quit. But then I’ll go to work. My shift will end. And I’ll think, ‘You know what I could really go for? A smoke.’
LARA Where she presides: Blind Tiger, West Village Favorite drink: India pale ale
In this place or anywhere? Well, in this place I’d say chili or quesadillas. You can get those and they go really well with beer. Elsewhere, for me, I’d just get snacks. Whatever the place has. [Anything in particular?] Yes. Fish and chips. If they have it.
