Is it possible to single out one particular New York neighborhood for its drunkenness? Frankly, no: to live in this city is to occasionally self-medicate with a little of the hard stuff (something has to take the edge off after a long day, right?). But are there spots a little more prone to bibulous hedonism and poor behavior? Perhaps… yes.

People are drunk everywhere on the weekend! It’s not just one neighborhood. Friday night after eight or so, everyone I pick up it seems like they’ve been drinking. Midtown, Downtown, Harlem... it doesn’t matter. Most people are ok. It’s just the bad ones you need to be careful of. Usually I’m good at picking them out.

Midtown. The tourists... At least people in New York know how to be quiet and ride in the cab. The people from out of town, they drink and then they talk, talk, talk... loud, loud loud!

What neighborhood has the worst drunks? What neighborhood does not have drunks? Probably the East Village. It’s pretty crazy there on the weekend. And lots of people take cabs because the subway isn’t so good there. I have not had much of a problem with drunks, though. I’m lucky I guess.

Anywhere Downtown is crazy at the weekend. I would like to stay up in Midtown and Harlem, but business is too good Downtown. I’ve had people throw up all over my cab, but I still have to go down there because the business is good.

The Village. Stupid people. Stupid. You are not drunk, are you?
